Summer Camp
Anyone? |
As you start thinking about plans for this summer,
consider sending your child to a camp where they will
not only have fun, but they'll hear about Jesus
Christ. Lutheran Valley Retreat (LVR) is a
summer
youth camp and year-around retreat center (est. 1959)
located on 240 acres at an elevation of 8400' in the
middle of Pike National Forest. LVR offers opportunities
for children, youth, and families to experience Jesus
Christ. LVR is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from
ColoradoSprings, and a 21/2
hour drive from Denver.
LVR's mission is
to provide experiential opportunities in an outdoor
environment for children, youth, families, and their
advocates to know and share Jesus Christ with ALL
people. LVR welcomes churched and unchurched, Lutherans
and non-Lutherans. Our goal is for all who come here to
begin and continue a relationship with Jesus Christ, and
to strengthen them so that they share Jesus with all
people. We also encourage respect of God's creation,
others, and self. LVR is for everyone, without regard to
race, religion, or handicap.

Snacks Needed!
We attend church to receive spiritual nourishment
through God's Word. After the service, we enjoy
fellowship and the nourishment of our sweet tooth with
snacks! Snack sign up has been light. We are
in need of volunteers to bring snacks. Sign up and
share a favorite recipe and a smile. If you can't
find time in your busy schedule to bake, pick up
your favorite snack at King Soopers with your "Scrip"
card! If you can't stay afterwards to serve, we
can always find someone willing to meet this need.
Use your talents and joyfully serve the
Lord!

Epiphany
Family:
The pictures this week are from Stan and Marcy
Pore's 50th wedding anniversary celebration last Sunday.
Wow! 50 years! How wonderful!
Thanks to Stan and Marcy for inviting the entire
congregation to such a scrumptious spread and Loving
Fellowship! You are a wonderful gift to us from
God. |

Scrip Program |
|
|
Scrips are more than just
coupons...they support numerous projects at
Epiphany...
Since Oct of
2004, the LWML has been blessed to be able to
contribute about $9,800 to various outreach programs and
needs within the congregation. These funds have
all come from the sale of scrip and King Soopers
certificates. They would
like to be able to continue to support projects as they
are made known to them. Without
congregational support of the scrip and KS certificate
programs this will not be possible. Please remember
to buy and use KS certificates and scrip.

| Garage
Sale - June 6-7, 2008 |
|
|
You may
start bringing your donations for the garage
sale to the church beginning Friday, May
30th.
Workers will be available all of the next week
for pricing and setup. We are in need
of some "husky" men to help with furniture and heavier
boxes. We
could also use their help with identifying tools (the
women can identify a hammer or a screwdriver, but
anything more complicated, ???). Any clothing
should be given to the Orphan Grain Train. The Garage Sale
is a fund raiser and an outreach of Epiphany Lutheran
Church.
Informational brochures about the church are
given to all at the checkout. The support of
the entire congregation is appreciated!
Craft Bazaar coming in October! - Have you
started making something for the Craft Bazaar in
October? If you need ideas, just ask the sewing
group!

Growing in the Word
Concordia Publishing House offers an exciting
companion tool for Sunday School Teachers who are using
the Growing in Christ curriculum. Get an in-depth
look at each Bible story you teach to children.
This weekly commentary helps you better understand each
Sunday School lesson in order to more effectively convey
the message to children.
Each weekly lesson is available in a Podcast
here (don't get scared...it's just like
listening to a CD or radio program...they are just audio
files and you do NOT need an iPod). Impress
your teenagers by telling them you need to go listen to
your Sunday School Podcast!
