Summer Camp Anyone? |
As you start thinking about plans for this summer,
consider sending your child to a camp where they will
not only have fun, but they'll hear about Jesus
Christ. Lutheran Valley Retreat (LVR) is a
summer
youth camp and year-around retreat center (est. 1959)
located on 240 acres at an elevation of 8400' in the
middle of Pike National Forest. LVR offers opportunities
for children, youth, and families to experience Jesus
Christ. LVR is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from
ColoradoSprings, and a 21/2
hour drive from Denver.
LVR's mission is
to provide experiential opportunities in an outdoor
environment for children, youth, families, and their
advocates to know and share Jesus Christ with ALL
people. LVR welcomes churched and unchurched, Lutherans
and non-Lutherans. Our goal is for all who come here to
begin and continue a relationship with Jesus Christ, and
to strengthen them so that they share Jesus with all
people. We also encourage respect of God's creation,
others, and self. LVR is for everyone, without regard to
race, religion, or handicap.

| THE DOUGH IS BACK! |
|
Cookie Dough Available!
Epiphany teens sold some great cookie dough last
year and we've had lots of requests for more, so...the
dough is back! You may place orders now and
we'll have it here in plenty of time for May receptions,
picnics and parties. Maybe you'd like to send some
to school for your child's class? Any active
Epiphany teen can take an order and there will be forms
in the back of the worship center, too. Thank you
for your order!

| VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
|
|
| Douglas/Elbert County Task
Force
The Douglas/Elbert County Task Force is in
need of volunteers to help out in the Thrift
Store. You can choose to help in an area that
really interests you, meet new friends, and have fun
while working!
For more information on the volunteer opportunities
available please call Kathy at
(303)688-1114. |
| We Need Your Help! |
|
Snacks Needed!
We attend church to receive spiritual nourishment
through God's Word. After the service, we enjoy
fellowship and the nourishment of our sweet tooth with
snacks! Snack sign up has been light. We are
in need of volunteers to bring snacks. Sign up and
share a favorite recipe and a smile. If you can't
find time in your busy schedule to bake, pick up
your favorite snack at King Soopers with your "Scrip"
card! If you can't stay afterwards to serve, we
can always find someone willing to meet this need.
Use your talents and joyfully serve the
Lord!

Important Meeting!
Please mark your calendars and plan on attending
the congregational assembly in the Worship Center on
Sunday, April 20th at 11:45 am following the late

| LWML
Scrip Program |
|
There is a new look to the grocery scrip
program. First
- the paper certificates are no longer available
(individuals had been forging them) so now they are the
plastic wallet size cards in $25, $50, or $100
denominations. Second - they are now ONLY usable
at King Soopers (or their affiliates, which are listed
on the back of the card). Shortly we will be
getting ones for Safeway as well. Sorry for the
inconvenience. You may purchase the scrips in
the Epiphany
kitchen. |
| Garage Sale Help
Needed! |
|
|
We will be needing help the week of the
garage sale. Some of the "regular" helpers will be
out of town, so we need to recruit some new helpers to
help price and setup. Several men will be needed,
especially on Friday and Saturday to move any furniture
and heavier items. Please contact Mildred Loughner
at (303) 840-9539, if you can help.

| Sunday School Teacher Resource -
NEW! |
|
Growing in the Word
Concordia Publishing House offers an exciting
companion tool for Sunday School Teachers who are using
the Growing in Christ curriculum. Get an in-depth
look at each Bible story you teach to children.
This weekly commentary helps you better understand each
Sunday School lesson in order to more effectively convey
the message to children.
Each weekly lesson is available in a Podcast
here (don't get scared...it's just like
listening to a CD or radio program...they are just audio
files and you do NOT need an iPod). Impress
your teenagers by telling them you need to go listen to
your Sunday School Podcast!
