Lutheran Devotions

Did you know that you can spend time in God's Word on the Internet?  The above links will take you to some excellent online Lutheran devotions.  We pray the Holy Spirit will use these tools to strengthen your faith in our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ
Worship Assistants Needed!
Work is Love Made VisiblePlease take a moment to fill out our Mini Time & Talent survey, if you are willing to serve as a worship assistant. It is only 7 questions! If you have a student in Confirmation, they serve as acolytes as part of their curriculum so that they learn to serve the Lord. To take the survey, go here.  A full blown Time and Talent sheet will be coming to you in the mail in the near future.  A BIG thank you goes out to the 28 folks who have responded already.
Teen Weekend Retreat
Hey teens - plan on attending the Teen Weekend Retreat held Friday night, March 28 through Sunday noon, March 30 at Lutheran Valley Retreat above Divide, CO.  Cost is $15 per teen. This money will cover the cost of food.  Bring your friends!  We will eat and enjoy the camp and on Saturday we'll do some service work for the camp.  Plan now to attend - it will be a great weekend!  Call DCE John for more details.

Summer Camp Anyone?

Castle Rock Star
As you start thinking about plans for this summer, consider sending your child to a camp where they will not only have fun, but they'll hear about Jesus Christ.  Lutheran Valley Retreat (LVR) is a
summer youth camp and year-around retreat center (est. 1959) located on 240 acres at an elevation of 8400' in the middle of Pike National Forest. LVR offers opportunities for children, youth, and families to experience Jesus Christ. LVR is about a 1 1/2 hour drive from ColoradoSprings, and a 21/2 hour drive from Denver. LVR's mission is to provide experiential opportunities in an outdoor environment for children, youth, families, and their advocates to know and share Jesus Christ with ALL people. LVR welcomes churched and unchurched, Lutherans and non-Lutherans. Our goal is for all who come here to begin and continue a relationship with Jesus Christ, and to strengthen them so that they share Jesus with all people. We also encourage respect of God's creation, others, and self. LVR is for everyone, without regard to race, religion, or handicap.

Volunteer Needed
The Epiphany office is in need of a volunteer that would be willing to visit a recycle center periodically and take our box of papers to be recycled.  If this is something that you would be interested in doing for the church office, please contact Nancy at (303) 688-4435.  Thank you!

Dear Epiphany

The photos above are from our recent Kids Health Fair. It was fun as well as educational. There were stations for good toothbrushing habits, hand washing, helmet safety, blood pressure, height and weight, and eating healthy...snacks from the four food groups included! Thanks to our Parish Health Committee for putting on this great event.  If they do it again next year, don't miss it!
Spring Forward THIS Sunday
Daylight Savings Time Begins
Daylight Savings ImageWhether you like it or not...it is time to spring forward!  Daylight Savings Time begins this Sunday, March 9.  Make sure you set your clocks AHEAD one hour at 2am Sunday (or before you go to bed if you don't want to stay up just to change the clocks...ha! Winking Smiley )  We recommend you change those batteries in your smoke detectors too. A smoke detector with "NO" battery does you absolutely "NO" good!  Read about the history of DST here.
Lenten Series - The Body of Christ
Our Lenten theme for this year is entitled, The Body Of Christ Body of Christas we take the time to consider seriously the parts of our Lord's human body which He used to earn our salvation and the meaning for our lives as Christians living in the The Body Of Christ .  We will focus our attention on the:
  • Feet of Christ - To lead the way
  • Hands of Christ - To help and heal
  • Mouth of Christ - To speak God's Word
  • Ears of Christ - To hear our prayers
  • Eyes of Christ - To see our needs
  • Heart of Christ - To show God's love

There is a new look to the grocery scrip program.  ScripFirst - the paper certificates are no longer available (individuals had been forging them) so now they are the plastic wallet size cards in $25, $50, or $100 denominations.  Second - they are now ONLY usable at King Soopers (or their affiliates, which are listed on the back of the card).  Shortly we will be getting ones for Safeway as well.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  You may purchase the scrips in the Epiphany kitchen.
